The 1950s in Pakistan can be best described as a
soul-searching mission for the country. The politicians, intellectuals,
artists and society, in general, were in their infancy and trying to
build a nation from scratch with very little on hand. With a very vague
idea as to what they hoped to achieve.

1954 Pakistan Cricket – They won their first maiden test vs. England, at the Kennington Oval August 12-17
1955 – Pakistan International Airlines are born – Lockheed PIA Plane standing at Heathrow Airport
1955 – Biggest post-independence project – Kotri Barrag
